    I need to chmod a text file and a folder that I am trying to upload to my server... do I need a php program or what ?

    It seems I cant change the permissions in notepad...so what should I do....

    I use FileZilla. On the right hand side of the page (the files that are already uploaded), right click on the the file that you need to change. Once right clicked, a menu will pop up. Click on Chang Permissions. From here, you can make the changes that you need to make.

    Hope this helps

    EDIT: You must do this after the file or folder is uploaded to your site.
