There is a new browser in town. Following the long tradition of weird names it was called https://vivaldi.com.
The company behind the browser is surprisingly also named Vivaldi and its co-founder is the ex-CEO of Opera Software.
The browser is currently in Beta, but it works like a charm. Actually, I'm writing this post from Vivaldi and experiencing only a slight inconvenience (still not used to it).
Pros:
- European company (wave hi to NSA)
- Made for power user - most of the customization I could remember from the old Opera are there
- Incognito mode working (launch as "vivaldi.exe -incognito")
- WebKit based - no compatibility problems with 99% of the Internet
- Good team with proven experience
Cons:
- GUI built with modern technologies (node.js and React) - interface feels very slow comparing to Opera/Chrome
- Raw - still in beta
All in all, I like it.
I would love it once they fix the GUI.
