China - - - Hell?

Hi,all
I am From Guangzhou; Whole Sell Salon Tools .Like some Said: environmental situation,People right or Food problems.
I guess it was just part of "camera".I have few Customer From Around the World;So,I asked them :how do you feel China?How do you feel Guangzhou? "they are kindly,and Place nice." one of my Vietnam Customer said:"if you have money,everywhere was same."
But as some news (CNN,ABC,or BBC) ,they are right. We now having Many "Big Problems"
But i ask my friends,they always said:We have 5000 Years History,But Our modern times Only Since1980.
I Remember：

I remember our nation's television interview, Warren Buffett, he said that what really remarks, either the United States or China, or the world, we can not only see the crisis (our country's problems), life is constantly towards before the walk, the upward trend will, our next generation will have a better life than we.

I hope Bhw Dear member can accpet our "Behind"

I've seen that documentary. It's very good.
Though it's important to remember the China is a VERY BIG place. From what I remember, that documentary takes place in one, fairly small, coal mining town. It's exceptionally polluted because of the industry that takes place in its borders.
I'm sure there's places in China that are relatively unpolluted, even by US standards (although not by the Swiss's standards - that's a damn clean place!).
 
Vice is not a serious source.Just check what kind of cinema movies they are promoting and you know everything.They were at the beginning extremly good expecially with reports from africa but they changed into a commercial propaganda channel and many people unsubscribed because of that.They went after the money

I lived in China some years ago. The living experience really depends on your level of wealth. Expats can have a very nice lifestyle (or they could) as long as you're able to overlook the problems: expensive imported products (your favorite brands of food, mostly) and visible poverty. On the whole, though, I loved it. The people were friendly, you have (in Beijing) many familiar shopping outlets (Hard Rock, McDonald's), and the markets are a great place to pick up cheap designer clothing. We're talking over 10 years since I was there, though. Smog was never a problem, but certainly not as nice as you'd find in an Irish town on the coast. Poverty is the really horrendous aspect of life for an expat. Expect to be sipping a Pepsi and be approached by a beggar with syphilis, missing his nose and other portions of his face.

Edit: HK, on the other hand, is a whole different story. An amazing experience. Poverty still exists (of course), but expats with sufficient funds have everything they need and more. It's just expensive in terms of rent. Eating out, though, and electrical products were cheaper than most countries in the west; or they were.

I've been planning on going to china in the future. All the comments on this thread are amazing lol :D
 
I've lived in China on and off for the past few years, and I absolutely love it there. While it has its problems, every other country does too. The image western media paints of China is laughable once you see the country for yourself first hand. I could go on and on, but I've grown tired of defending the country online against so many ignorant people.

I agree...At one time I use to respond to these things in detail and try to defend it.
But I have grown tired of that. Propaganda is played by both sides of the world. I will always like what I like regardless.

Thats only true if you are one of the original investors or buy new shares a Chinese company is offering, but if your buying from someone that is selling them on the market, then you are not financing the Chinese Government.

We're talking about vans that are designed to kill a person via lethal injection (not sure where you're getting Goon squads from?). People who are already tried and sentenced to death for their crimes. It's not like they randomly pick people up off the street and execute them...

Just re-read that article.. half of it is a load of crap. 700 million people drink contaminated water? My ass. I've been in the poorest of villages in China, and purified water is readily available for extremely cheap. Even in expensive cities, a 5 gallon bottle of purified water is only $2-3 USD.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, poverty is rampant in China. But as the most populated country on the earth its easily more apparent than say a county with 5-10% of its population. Times are changing though, and it's getting better. Here's a photo I snapped of a dentist office located in a remote village in Guangxi province

I live in China, and to be honest the pollution is a serious problem. I'm in Shanghai, and everyday the PSI (air pollution index) is between 150 and 300 (150 = unhealthy for old people and children, 300 = hazardous). Also, you have a lot of factories pumping dirty polluted water into the ground, which is then used to water the crops like rice and veggies, which will often be contaminated with lead, cadmium, etc. That is really the big problem.

In terms of culture, its pretty amazing though. The change from my European home is just enormous. life here is just so much more interesting, people are more warm, welcoming, friendly and they are generally more positive. The food is awesome, you have place like Tibet in the mountains, and Hainan for the tropical beaches, you have places like Shanghai which are so international, and Beijing which have 5000 years of history.

US and EU people tend to think that the Chinese are an oppressed, exploited and unhappy population but nothing could be further from the truth. People here love their country, they are proud and want to contribute to its future. People here dance in the street, do sports, go to Karaoke bars, night clubs, restaurants, have big parties, and I think generally people here are happier than in the European Union.. which is funny, since the EU's living standards are like 100 times better.

In a nutshell, if you don't know about China, you really should come and discover it for yourself. Apart from the environment stuff, I would be happy to live here for a decade or so. For business it is also awesome.
