chess.fun. When did this happen?? (chess becoming fun that is)

As someone who used to participate in chess competitions as a kid (and even win a couple of honorable mentions, no medal though) I'd rather watch paint dry as an adult instead of playing chess, much less watch someone else play...

Every chess player is like genious somehow i am talking about the pros

I like chess. Spending a lot of time solving problems to increase perception. Very good game for improving emotial management.

Yes I play chess. I do not have an official rating but I am around intermediate level. I can see most moves and tactics but still have a lot to learn. Do you play often?

#1: I play Chess a lot; I have played on-and-off for five years.

My average Lichess ratings are 1600 Ultra-Bullet, 2400 Bullet, 2200 Blitz, 2200 Rapid, 2050 Classical, 2300 Puzzles, and 2400 Correspondence.

My favourite opening is the French Defense.

One of my favourite parts of Chess is that the players are the ones who evolve the game, rather than the game receiving updates (other than a few, like stalemate being changed to a draw). This is similar to Slay the Spire and Werewolf (board game): The players change the META. I do not necessarily prefer this approach over games consistently receiving new cards, characters, and so on; I more so appreciate the variety that this method offers.

I enjoy studying openings a lot (French Defense, Queen's Indian Defense, Queen's Gambit, to name a few).

Chess is one of those games that looks simple but gets insanely deep the more you study it once you start understanding openings, tactics, and positional play, it’s basically mental warfare. Platforms like Chess.com and Lichess made it even more addictive because you can grind games and improve anytime.

Playing chess is for those with too much free time. I used to play when I was a kid and as a teenager, but now I won’t waste my time on that. It’s better to read a book or relax with some other kind of activity if I really have a bit of free time I don’t know what to do with, but usually I don’t even have time for that.I don’t think chess will make you smarter or anything like that. Maybe as a child it can have some impact, but it’s very unlikely that it will happen later in life.
