Checking out the competition

I have been reading up quite a bit and plan to start my first micro niche (start small), just wanted to ask what you guys/gals think is the best way tool or software to check out the competition? (to see their PR, backlinks, kw, etc).

For start you can try traffic travis.

TT is pretty good but remember no matter what tool you use you should be using them to weed out keywords/niches and give you possibles but not use them to make the final decision on going forward. Before you decide to go after a keyword you should always do a manual search and look at what you get and check out those sites in the top 10. Spending some time manually looking at the results can save you a huge amount of time and money.

100% agree with Volund - use software to speed up the process, but never let the software make your decision.
