Hey Friends,

Are any of these comments true? At one time i have "heard or experienced" the following:

1. If you check a name with Godaddy, and you don't purchase it from them, the name itself goes on hold for a few days (in other words, if you can find it cheaper at another place...you might find its on hold) before its released.

2. Godaddy is one of the most expensive to buy domain names from. In fact, if you want to purchase the domain and not use their hosting....they are the highest in price for purchasing a domain name?

3. Changing DNS servers, is a slow process with Godaddy and could take days before it happens...

Anytruth to the above?

thanks Mates....

All the points are wrong. At Least not happened ever with me!

You left off number 4 - A business owner would have to be insane or stupid to use GoDaddy.

1 Yes, I have seen this

2. Not even close, network solutions charges $40 year to renew a domain, and they do it even if you have it set to not renew. You can almost always find a godaddy coupon code.

3. Never had any problem with this, it usually happens about as fast as anyone else, but I have only done his a few times with GD.

4. Yes, I agree completely

Recently I was changing nameservers on godaddy and it takes only a minute for me...

Hey Tex

Yeah man...when i first used godaddy (i'm going back at least 10yrs), they would stall the name if you did a search and found it. (don't ask me how they did it...but the name would be locked in reserve for 2 days)

4. hahahaha.....yeah buddy. Only newby's use godaddy

5. Not sure about their bulk name search feature though. I have found it very useful. HOWEVER, as i said, not sure if they are purchasing names (and like to grab the name first---if you don't purchase it) or what. THIS WAS MY main concern when purchasing a domain name.

thanks man...hope all is well where you are!
