Checking Backlinks of competitors

Hi there,

I was just doing a google search for my keyword, and I found obvious competitors for the same keyword. I did a search for their domain name in google and got several thousand results.

The majority of these results looked to be from websites analysing website worth, page rank and whois information. I've used several submitting tools I found on this forum like loganrockmarketing and marketingblogonline but I get no where near this amount of backlinks.

The obvious reason would be that the majority of their backlinks could be from forums or other blogs etc using xrumer or scrapebox but even though google shows 2000 results, I can only see about 4 pages of links.

The top ten search results for the competitor are:
webtrafficagents - testing website value
websitevaluecalculate - estimated website worth
domain-daily - newly registered domains
aboutsite
robtex
statout - estimated worth and webstats
whoisbucket - whois information
websitemark - estimated value
page2rss
webtrafficagents - whois record

Any ideas how they are outranking me? Obviously with the number of backlinks, but technically I have better quality backlinks and a hotter domain name.

Both my domain and the competitor is less than a month old...
