Checking Anonymity

Can anybody tell me what needs to be checked, to insure a decent anonymouse proxy?? I'm not looking for a program to test them or anything like that, I want to know what I need to look for myself?

..but those proposition still are a program so I don't know if You will be interested about

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this, as the only way to know for sure you have an anonymous proxy that doesn't leak your own IP or give away any of your info is by testing them in some way.

I usually tell my clients to load up a proxy in firefox and then go to www.whatsmyip.org/more/ where it will show if you're using an obvious proxy or not.

But this isn't very good for doing a lot of proxies so you might want to use Charon as someone above mentioned.

Okay maybe the question should be - What exactly do sites like whatsmyip, look for to decide if there is a proxy in place etc.?

I think you may need to go read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy_server as you can't check a proxy for anonymity without some external site or program.
