Check out my flyer.

ohaider - I think you meant 5.5% conversion ;) But definitely doable with this method. And as has been mentioned previously, if you capture the lead on the way to the offer, you can market to them repeatedly...

you guys need to setup an epson r280 with a ciss ink cartridge system,
i can get around a 1000 full page flyers, with before and after photo quality pics threw out the whole page,

but that takes too long

another way would be to pay the Penny Saver, to add a brochure for you, it's an insert, and they charge around $250.00 for 12,500 homes

it takes me at least 8 hours to print 1000 full page brochure's, while doing other shit, but then it takes 8 hours to pass them out, and i would be lifting up the corner of there "Welcome Carpet" and setting it under there to protect it from flying away, not trying to get in trouble touching mail boxes

Any results from this, guys? Thanks to poster who reported some results...not very good though.

Forgot to say. I also used to run an advertising agency for many years. We had about 20 people at the street, delivering all kind of stuff daily.

Something I must agree with gilbertbank: outsourcing this is difficult as hell.

How does this look? I might go out to a mall with a stack of 50 or so and leave them under windshield wipers.

How does this look? What should I change? I'm thinking about adding some more colour
.

Should they be facing towards the window or away? (Hank Hill says towards the window)

Wow thanks a lot. I didn't expect someone to put in so much effort into helping me :p I'm definitely going to fix it up

To get my leaflets better seen by strollers, I always put them under the windscreen wipe which is closer to the sidewalk (don't care whether it's the wipe in front of the driver or the passenger's one).

If both wipes are equal to the sidewalk (as with cars parked nose to the kerb) I choose passenger's wipe as I prefer to place flyers out of reach from the driver seat (I don't want my micro-billboards quickly removed).

I see many of you are trying this with 50, 100, 200 leaflets... It would be long and kinda offtopic to explain the statistical formula involved but, to keep it easy, whatever conclusion you get to after so few flyers distributed, don't trust it AT ALL (you have more chance to be right just by flipping a coin).

If your pocket forces you to cut expenses some way, it's more advisable to test water with a cheaper version of your promotional material (so you know that your results can only improve from those obtained in test). If you can't afford to print 5,000 color flyers then print them Black-on-White, but don't waste your time (and ink) in so-called "tests" that are nothing but a joke.

If it was an ipad offer, I'd want targeted visitors, so they'd be handed out outside of an electronics or mobile phone store.

I think a sans serif font will go a long way.

Good point artizhay.

Sans serif fonts are far more legible than Slab serif ones (some say Egyptian). So this is the way to go for Jason, as strollers are not expected to spend long time reading his copy and our mate needs them to get a quick overview on the thing, as a minimum.

Egyptian fonts family is suited for big size, bold headlines (provided that they are brief: 1-2 words), as they work fine at grabbing attention. That's why they are so widely used in sign-making.

So I'd suggest Jason to reserve slab serif for his huge "one-winner-word", as he likes that font; then typeset everything else in his copy in a regular sans serif. This way, he'll ensure high contrast between headline and body text (which is good to get your catchy title to stand out at a glance).

---------------
Though many serif fonts are quite legible too ?times, garamond...? they look kind of classic for selling tech gadgets, so artizhay's advice is the one to follow.

just some advice, instead of leaving them on windshields and stuff, you will have much better results hand delivering them to people in person to create a huge amount of trust that wouldnt exist from people randomly finding your fliers on their car or on the ground. which will increase conversions dramatically, definitely worth it.

make up any story you want, say you are a representative of the company giving away the product, because in a way you actually are :)

I would like to see the results. Are you actually planning on giving away a free gift card or is this just to sucker people into your site?

I would incorporate a stronger call to action to funnel the viewers to the website. I don't like the multicolors on the link.

Regarding outsourcing, I haven't bought one yet but have seen gps data loggers sold for about 40 bucks, which would allow you to record time and travel and then plug it into your computer and use it with google earth to see where they actually went.

Another idea for printing is to get glossy business cards made up with your offer, you can get 1000 for about 25 bucks, and then stick them on driver side windows.

For offers I would try to find one with the new sprint Iphone since that is a hot item right now, or a payday loan offer.
