Cheapest .ORG domains january 2015?

I've been googling around for a while in the last two weeks with no success (specifically for .ORG domains)
What I've found is that I can get GoDaddy domains cheaper than Namecheap (~$7-8) but nothing less than that. Maybe is the cheapest actually or maybe not
I was targeting something like $2 for first year

I'm surprised to find that still GoDaddy is cheaper than all those..... I have most of my domains in GD so I feel that .ORG for $1-2 are something from the past

I have a lot of domains, I've been using coupons for renewals (not so expensive then) and last year bought the discount club they may be renewing every two years possibly
What is WHOIS? Private whois service? I never understood the need for that service, maybe I will research a bit for it soon since I've seen that is becoming popular

I'm so glad I switched to namecheap and namesilo. I used to be with Godaddy, they give you cheap domains until renewal time then you get shafted. Spending 45 minutes of my valuable work time looking for renewal coupons made me want to mercilessly punch bob parsons in the face.

I hate godaddy so much. Sting you so bad with renewals.
Crazy domains is another alternative, can be really cheap, and $7 privacy (in australia at least).

I'm not that profile that manage 100 domains but normally I use to manage 5-6 domains so getting some discounts is important for me (even If I have to spend 30 minutes)
But I'm aware that from nov-dec 2014 there have not been published any new discount for goddady neither namecheap or other domain register service concretly for .ORG domains (As far as I know). But maybe someone have something, this is why I take a look everymonth in this forum

try 1and1,they have 1 us offer
Stay so far as possible from 1and1, they are the worst domain company ever.
I use to buy domains in Godaddy first year, and if I want to renew them I transfer them to another register, name.com or namecheap mostly.

I think that you can try with 1and1, should be some promo codes for the first year if you'll buy a domain..you can check

I think .ORG is a new standard for some reason (maybe some ICANN new rules) no under ~$8 ~7? anywhere
