Btw, I've been using HostMonster for a year now...Quite cheap considering the monthly charge of only $4.99 per month and what you got is a complete web hosting with UNLIMITED domains as well as CronJobs,Wordpress etc..
try to search for coupons, might give u more discounts...
Sometimes it is better to pay the extra money. I once used WebHosting Tonight which was like $1.99 a month, and they never answered support and I had to have my bank stop payments to them to cancel.
I would go with HostGator. For $10 a month you get a really great shared hosting plan and excellent support and no downtime.
Hostmonster is cheap and I haven't had any problem with them (not using them now but will probably move back to them as soon as I can).
The cost seems to be up at 6.95 at the moment. But their affiliateprogram pays 65 USD per referral.
Just wonder if one can't use that to put up several servers... If getting 65 USD back on each signup one can get them and if signing up one self one will only have to pay 1.5 USD per month for all the extra servers one might wanna use. Pretty cheap if wanting to run different blogs which might get banned.
Just not sure one can refere one self if one already have an account?? Else it would be too good to be true.
Oh.. Just found that host monster don't have coupons but if searching Google one can find discount links and get it for 4.95 per month.
if this is for the purpose of hosting an assload of sites you should consider a dedicated server. This way, you can have as many sites as you want with no limitations and you have much more flexibility to install whatever kinds of services you want on it. you can get a very cheap one for $30/mo from http://www.serverpronto.com/ . thats the cheapest ive ever been able to find for a dedi. i would be interested to know if there are any even cheaper that are true dedis (not vps).
Don't want to sound like a moron , but when you said month to month, you meant that you can just pay 1 month on sign-up and then monthly thereafter, right?
This is as opposed to packages offering hosting at like $1.99 per month but when you go to pay at checkout, you'll see a message saying that this price is valid if you paid for 68 months (i'm exaggerating) all at one go.
Anyways... would you want to have a look at sitehost4u dot com and compare with what other folks have suggested in this thread?
here... take my blackhat approach to hosting. signup for an affiliate acct at let's say h@stgator. (i'm just saying) join using a coupon/discount code under your own affiliate link. in 60 days they will send you a check for $50. chances are your hosting only cost $35. you do the math....
Cheap will sacrifice reliability. Always. Hostgator is cheap on both the wallet.. and its service. Don't use cheap if you have any chance of ever creating truly viral content. They'll just suspend your account silently when the traffic load bursts then mention something about an "AUP (LinkSky Policy) violation".
I still think the $30/mo dedicated server is the way to go for anyone who wants to save money. its not like its going to be difficult to use; just tell them to install cpanel on it and you're set.
A low cost host with very good services is Servage.net. I may be the cheapest if you pay once 3 months, then you can get as affiliate 2 months for free for each referral. With only six referrals per year you have a full year for free. I can recommend this host hence I am very much satisfied with it, and from this year I am using it for free.
If you sign up at servage.net using coupon code neverpayagain, then you will get extra 25 GB storage for free.
