    Hi,

This is kind of a tutorial for noobs. I have been lurking a while and am trying to get active and as such share what small bits that I know. I have been reading around here on BHW and it would seem that a blog network is a great thing to have. IF you are serious about IM and SEO, you want to dominate a niche, then this is the way to go afaik. The problem is that they cost money. Everything blackhat costs money. Here's a quick and easy way to save $ on some of these costs.

    1) Pickup some cheap VPS servers. I look at lowendbox.com I found some decent ones. Dedicated IP, 2 cores, 512 ram/swap 25gb disk space, 1TB bandwith - $15/yr. I generally don't like going under 512 ram because then I have trouble running the GUI server admins. I'm simply not techy enough to get away without those. When you buy these from a company, make sure that you choose different locations. For example if they have Texas, Georgia, NY servers only get 1 VPS in each location. It will give you a bunch of IP variation necessary in blog networks. Also, don't put all your blogs with one company. Not sure if Google would check something like that, but you don't want to leave a footprint that huge.

    2) Host 2 sites of your blog network on each server. This will run wordpress and kloxo-mr (if so desired) without a problem. I understand ideally it should be 1 site, however if you're tight for cash two sites might be fine. If they are different niches even better.

    3) Install tinyproxy on your servers, limiting the IP to your IP only of course so no one from this forum scrapes and uses your proxy. Set the number of connections to around 4. Centos is a simple yum install tinyproxy and then vi /etc/tinyproxy/tinyproxy.conf to change settings.

Not an amazing tip, but for $15/yr you get

    2 sites hosted
    1 proxy

The benefits are 1) you got hosting. Good hosting 2) you got proxies. Fast, virgin, private proxies.

That seems unreal to me. Blazing fast proxies (easy $12/yr on BST) along with hosting. No brainer.

For noobs looking to bootstrap their companies.

    Hi,

Not sure what you meant by that - but you can use the proxies to sign up for different websites, services etc that normally would be more restrictive based on your IP address. Hope that helps.
