I use Godaddy most of the times to purchase domains for 99 cents or 1.99

Or you can use this link https://www.register.com/promo/domain-to-website-v2.rcmx to get a domain for 50 cents (.com, .net, .org, .biz, .us, .info).

I use namecheap, get free whois protection and prices are never hiked like godaddy for renewals.
