We work closely with Google Search dept., and my short answer is YES.
Google has the capability to recognize AI generated text. With advances in natural language processing, AI can generate text that is indistinguishable from human-generated text, but here in Google we work on sophisticated algorithms to recognize AI generated text and accurately interpret it.

There aren't many humans who write in that way so yes it's identifiable, open ai are also working on a model to identify content produced by ai. Take hybrid approach and you will be fine.

Google give 0 phwks they want to make money, if your content drives engagement and ad revenue you will rank.
 
Yes, Google will shadowban/ rank them lower if it finds the content as AI generated.
 
AI writing can imitate, so no, if the AI is trained correctly.
 
Yes, i've ranked articles with jasper which basically uses the same model
 
It might be posible, what they do to identify it is unclear but, someone claimed they made a tool to identify AI content but this is normal at some point someone have to do it.
 
Can we tell if AI will rank? It does rank, will it rank better than a really well written article by a human, no probably not.
