Here is my observation.
With chatgpt you get inconsistent results. It's a hit or miss. Sometimes it gives better answers than jasper.ai even google. And sometimes it's just way off the mark and just junk.
With jasper once you get hang of it you will get consistent good quality content without burning a lot of (words) quota. Also if you learn how to use recipes it's much more consistent and efficient.

How is the pro version of chatgpt?

for $42, chat gpt is cheaper than Jasper however it seems lack many features

Yes...

How is the quality of pro compared to free?
afaik the pro version is the same quality just without rate limits, you don't need to wait when the servers are overloaded.

I would go with OpenAI playground over jasper any day, their pricing is way too high and you can achieve the same quality for a fraction of the price, it'll just require a bit more work to get the hang of it.

Wait a moment, am I missing something?

Jasper is using the OpenAI API. Basically, their product is based on DaVinci-003, which is based on GPT-3. The only thing they did was fine-tuning the model (if they did it). ChatGPT is based on GPT-3.5 and their official API isn't out yet (as far as I know).

I am in many Facebook groups, the Jasper group is one of them. Many people seem to complain about the quality of the content going to shit since they upgraded to DaVinci-003.

Btw. GPT-4 will be released next month or in March. This will be the real game changer.

With so much moving parts and variables I lost track of what is what and using what.
I just look at the output they spit out.

You are correct all ai run off openai but programmers just making the interface look better and added more short cuts that ai can do.

Learning prompts would equal the same results.

It all rebranded.
Openai that main pig fullstop.

Till this happens

GPT-4 won't be a game changer. Stop spreading this, please. GPT-4 will only be marginally better than GPT-3. The OpenAI CEO clarified this on Twitter.

Sincerely,
The Data Scientist

GPT-3 was a game-changer compared to GPT-2, but let's see what will happen. I can clearly see a vast improvement between GPT-3 and ChatGPT which runs on GPT-3.5.
