I was in another thread talking to posters about a recent string of Reddit bannings and I mentioned that I have several bots that have been running for months that are completely undetected. In addition, there are several threads on reddit r/mods where moderators/reddit admins discuss using third party software to scrape and verify comments/posts for signs of chatgpt.

If you are currently using chatgpt on reddit, I would advise you to avoid subreddits you suspect of doing this. OR, if you dare to challenge such a defense, you could always use something like the quillbot API to re-summarize your comments/posts and thus, remove the watermark.

On top of that, I would recommend washing anything taken from chatgpt through notepad or some third party application just to be on the safeside. What I suspect they may soon do, if they haven't already, is to place a one pixel whitespace before or after the first word in a chatgpt submission to promote detection. Simply dropping this text into notepad would reveal such shenanigans.

Good point. Keeping aside these hidden watermarks in text, there will be near to impossible to detect small chunks of text as AI generated. There will be a mess of false-positives.

It’s wild how sophisticated detection methods are getting, especially with Reddit using tools to spot ChatGPT-generated content. Using Quillbot or similar rephrasing tools sounds smart for removing any potential watermark.

They will surely take all steps to stop chatgpt content. Otherwise reddit will get ruined with spam posts.

I noticed that a couple of days back when one of my accounts got banned by a sub and the mod asked me an explanation on why I used AI content when I requested them to unban the account.

It seems Reddit made a war against AI specifically chatgpt.
