These tech layoffs due to AI is scary. All the news are about this in my feed nowadays.

do you think chatgpt will replace writing service (like resume service or something) ?

How random people can write prompts about detailed software programs? If you are beginner then sure you will be replaced

Whenever someone says:

“ChatGPT will replace X”

It is either he doesn’t know how ChatGPT works or has no idea what is X
True lol, they don't know that chatgpt lacks human emotions, critical thinking, decision making skills and so on. It will never replace humans

Isn't the intention to replace humans? In Japan they try to develop sex robots, aren't they going to succeed at some point? Won't that affect the porn industry? Since the intention of replacing people with slave robots is clear, it's certain that at one point will become a reality.

ChatGPT is actually awesome to help you code. I've been using it for months and they also recognize how you usually write your codes. Most of the time, it is actually correct but the accuracy of it is not 100%. But still, a good replacement for StackOverflow if you have programming questions.

No, I have seen few interviews with software engineers. It cannot replace them on senior level
but... can replace junior level programmers. You see, senior programmer have a lot of sh%t to do, like writing boilerplate code, automation tests, and a lot of useless manual crap.
In normal situation he calling to junior programmer to finish the sh%@t for him. But few programmers made an experiment and hired ChatGPT to do the job for junior.

Guess what, ChatGPT was better than junior, more accurate and not made a single mistake.
So yes, ChatGPT can replace juniors. For example when company is hiring 80 junior developers. Now can fire 30 of them. 50 juniors are enough. Let's assume junior is making $1,5k/m, it's $45 000 montly savings.

The question, where juniors will learn to become seniors? Nowhere? So in 20 years, there will be huge loophole. We will have decreasing population of old senior engineers but no new comers.

It is awesome, the only problem I faced was that many of the libraries had been updated since 2021 and now had different modifiers, but the code was on point. It also told me exactly how to run it, and explained everything like I'm 5. Was great.

I’d add also, these folks are views hungry. They do anything to earn the clicks

Anyone that thinks ChatGPT is going to be replacing SWE roles anytime soon hasn't ever been a SWE. There's a lot more depth that goes into creating/managing complex systems than blindly throwing code at it.

ChatGPT can give you some boilerplate code and that's about it. Anything more complex and it's going to struggle or just output garbage.

It still need good prompts. It might be like creating a high quality video from imagination. There are image generators and video generators but they are far from perfect.

Once it reaches that point. Almost every jobs will be gone.

I think chatGpt may replace such a profession as copywriters in the future
