Question - can google identify chatgpt written content ?

It is possible for Google to identify content that was generated by a machine learning model like ChatGPT, but it is not necessarily easy.

There are a few ways that Google might be able to identify content generated by ChatGPT or similar models:

  1. Language patterns: Machine learning models like ChatGPT are trained on large datasets of human-generated text, and as a result, they can produce text that is similar to human-generated text. However, there may still be certain patterns or characteristics of the generated text that could be used to identify it as being non-human.
  2. Meta-data: If the content generated by ChatGPT is published on a website or other platform, there may be meta-data associated with the content (such as the IP address or server information) that could be used to identify it as being generated by a machine learning model.
  3. Human review: It is also possible that Google could use human reviewers to identify content generated by ChatGPT or similar models. This could involve manually reviewing the content and looking for signs that it was generated by a machine.
Overall, while it is possible for Google to identify content generated by ChatGPT, it may not be a straightforward process and may require a combination of different approaches.

Question - how can someone avoid getting detected by google?

There are a few ways that someone could try to avoid getting detected by Google when using a machine learning model like ChatGPT to generate content:
  1. Make the content as human-like as possible: If the content generated by the model is difficult to distinguish from human-generated content, it may be less likely to be detected by Google. This could involve fine-tuning the model to produce text that is more similar to human language or using multiple models to generate different parts of the content.
  2. Use meta-data and other technical measures to hide the fact that the content was generated by a machine: If the content is being published on a website or other platform, it may be possible to use meta-data or other technical measures to obscure the fact that the content was generated by a machine. However, it is important to note that these measures may not be foolproof and could potentially be detected by Google.
  3. Avoid using the content in a way that is likely to be detected by Google: Google has specific policies and guidelines in place that prohibit certain types of content from being published on its platforms or from ranking highly in its search results. By avoiding using the content in a way that is likely to violate these policies (such as spamming or engaging in deceptive practices), it may be possible to avoid being detected by Google.
Overall, it is important to note that it may not be possible to completely avoid being detected by Google, and it is generally best to be transparent about the use of machine learning models to generate content.

I think it is a fair answer.

The thing is there are hundreds of ai content tools out there now, some are great, some are good, some are ok and some are garbage.

I tested 4 the other day for fun as part of a case study/test, gave them all the exact same instructions and got 4 different answers. So Google if they are serious about their HCU etc will either need to clampdown on ai or turn a blind eye as they currently seem to be doing.

And I actually asked another question

Question - does openai.com assist google to identify content written by chatgpt

Answer - As a large language model trained by OpenAI, I do not have the ability to assist Google in identifying content written by ChatGPT or other machine learning models. OpenAI is an independent research organization that is focused on advancing the field of artificial intelligence, and it does not have a direct relationship with Google or any other specific company.

That being said, it is possible that research and developments in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning that are conducted by OpenAI or other organizations could be used by Google or other companies to improve their ability to identify content generated by machine learning models. However, this would depend on the specific circumstances and the technologies involved.

ChatGPTs knowledge is cut off in September 2021. So I as don’t find that information very useful. As far as I’ve read OpenAI is working on some fingerprinting for its text.

I’ve generated 100+ posts with ChatGPT already and I’d say a human can detect it because the structure of the text is always similar. So if Google really wants to spend resources on it, I’m sure they can detect some unedited AI content easily.

Yes, that is true, especially when ChatGPT provide information in point form the language style is the same

I read some paper on watermarking gtp or Ai generated text....one of them are occurance or pattern of stop words, there's many method actually...but patterns of repeating of stop words kinda make sense
