Chat gpt Will no longer be free?

When a large company like Microsoft acquires a technology like GPT, the primary goal is typically to integrate it into their existing product offerings and services. The pricing for the technology may change depending on the specific use case and the target market. However, it's usually the case that bigger companies tend to have different pricing strategies than smaller ones, so it may be difficult to predict the future pricing until it has been officially announced by the company.

It's also worth noting that large acquisitions like this often take time to fully integrate and roll out, so any changes to pricing or availability of the technology would likely not happen overnight.

In general, there is always uncertainty on how an acquisition will impact the market and ecosystem it is in, as well as how the technology will be integrated and pricing. But this will be more clear once the acquisition is closed and more information is available from the companies.

The pricing is per 1K tokens, so a 470-token article on Davinci costs you less than a Cent: $0,0094.
Are you sure about this? I could be wrong for sure, but it looks like it's $0.02 per token for 1k tokens package. I hope you are right and want to be corrected because less than a cent per article would be fantastic for me.

They are purchasing a 49% stake in the company, with OpenAI retaining 2% and the remaining 49% being allocated to other investors. However, Microsoft will hold the largest number of shares in OpenAI, so in effect, they have effectively bought it. Unless they make an unlikely decision to shut down OpenAI, in which case, the 51% of shareholders would likely reject it. But for all other purposes, we can assume that Microsoft has the final say in OpenAI.

It's not good news that they will probably shut down ChatGPT and try to revive the failing Bing search engine with a limited version of ChatGPT, which will ultimately fail again as people have already seen and used ChatGPT as a virtual assistant. There are other competitors out there, OpenAI's DALL-E 2 is inferior in comparison to MidJourney, so if OpenAI and Microsoft decide to make ChatGPT less capable than it is, it will not last long and be replaced by something else.

Well such after a big investition for sure they will add a payment subscription to recover the investition

It's a pity that we are not seeing Bing being a solid competitor to Google, instead Microsoft is going through another route.
Competition in regards to search engine?

I have websites where 80% of the traffic is coming from Bing-powered engines (health niche, audience 50+, these people are not fancy about installing Chrome but use their Windows-PC out of the box). Google rankings are fine, but traffic is coming from Bing.

Use commas, man. :D

Don't hate me for saying I would love it if it became a paid tool.
Me too. It crashes a lot and there's constant overloaded error messages when I use it

Ye, it will, and I think it's going to be cheap as well since it's for commercial and public, so it should be affordable, maybe 20usd per month or smth
20 is not so Affordable for many people

there are other ways for ChatGPT to become a lucrative business for Microsoft, i don’t think you’d ever need to pay for a subscription.

It couldn't have been free forever, good things always have a price.
