chat gpt is overhyped

For me it's a time saver. Of course I am using it for formatting the data

There is one flaw, Google is a profit-company, so why would they care if a human posts content or not? Unless people will complain about AI propaganda, data manipulation etc., there would not be a reaosn to punish AI content. Also thinking about GTP only for content, is quite the small frame of what it could actually be used for like medical researsch

I think the fact that it can browse the internet makes it worse. it just copies a lot info nowadays

It will be fine-tuned then. I don't see how this is a long term issue. Worst case we report it and they will defenetely look into it
 
I think the potential is there, just dig deeper, but the problem is the amount of non sense censoring despite infancy. Big contrast to the www web at a similar time in development. Kind of bleak reflection on the state of society imo.

Are we not already at a point where lots of people will from now on try to crack the most current GTP version and remove the censoring?

But I agree and I think if we keep making the censoring harsher, we are losing focus on the actuall things that improve chat-gtp.

For example apperantly they will not make AGI this year, which is, if I remember correctly, due to some buisness inside political related discussions

More the fact it requires even work arounds, that at the infancy these kind of battles are already being fought. I think it will impact the grassroot influence of ai. I felt censorship and control didn't really start becoming a battle on the www internet until the 2010s, ai has started with these things in mind from day 1.

You are right. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that it schocked most people since it was so good and came to most out of nowhere (although there were other previous models

available, although albeit not that great), so people started to worry imeediately.

Some people joked about things like "they coudl never do creative things". Well, it then did create AI art, but did not stop their and became a professional writter, as welll as a programmer and more.

Given that it was capable to do all this, it was clearly visible that this will cause lots of lawsuits about copy right, lots of worrying about the economy, ethics and more, or so I would summerise

how I belive it came to such an early censorship.

I'm pretty sure the hype with die out in a year and quietly sink into the background for the general public but then in 10 years time it would have changed our lives and society completely. Think the iPhone launch and then 10 years later.
 
Perspective is everything! If you're set on seeing it as unhelpful, then that's what you'll experience.

I could see that as well, at least as one possibility.

I think the only way to stay relevant for longer, is if they keep making breakthroughts, but I cannot imagine what could keep them too relevant for the public anylonger.

They have text-to-speech, image recogntion, chatbot (obviously) and lots of other features and now costum chat-gtps.

So I think we are probably not getting to see much media talking about it for the time being, but once we get AGI we will again have the next media

explosion, since, I think, AGI is basically what most people are currently waiting for, so the other smalle imrpovments will just be taken for granted until

Not super knowledgeable myself aside from dabbling in chatgpt and stablediffusion earlier in the year, the main thing that stops me working on AI stuff is 1. higher technical gate keeping, its harder for me to understand how the machine learning actually works 2. hardware demands, at some point in the chain AI requires heavy duty hardware work to scale. I think over all it has much higher entry barrier than the internet did, so we won't see the retail level breakthroughs day to day, but it will be disrupting in the background at a B2B level until adjacent companies comes along and creates completely new retail ai products in 3-4 years.

Just talking out of my ass for fun though.
 
I'm very happy paying 20 bucks a month for Chatgpt4. Nothing out there comes even close to touch it.
 
I don't care if it's overhyped or underhyped as long as it serves the purpose I seek.
 
Well I'd say it depends on how you use it. Chatgpt has helped me in a lot of ways. You just have to make the best out of it.
 
It depends on your prompts and the way you use it, I have great results with my test sites. You also need to train it a bit with content from your niche that saves you a lot of hallucinating.

For the $20- per month I could not ask for a better assistant.
