Charging digital marketing clients

Hello,


For long time I was was working with my own digital projects, e-commerce and now I have really great skills in digital marketing.

Now one businessman who has a lot of Jewellery physical stores is asking me to take care of hes business in internet - To build e-commerce project and take care of full digital marketing for him.

I'm interested in fixed price + revenue share for this project because I have to build it from zero.

What fixed price + revenue share percentage I should charge him? Maybe you guyd can share your fixed prices and revenue share models? Any tips?

Figure up how much time you are going to spend on the marketing side each month. I would have quoted something like 1500 to 2500 per month plus 1 to 5% of all sales that come in online.

depends on the profits he's making and on what the salary of a digital marketer in your local area is. Know the average salary of a digital marketer in your local area, add 10% more to the fixed price, and about 1-2% commission on the online sales. If you're doing a good job at making him constant online sales you will both be happy with the deal

Thank you guys.

For begining I think I will stay for fixed charge +5% of online sales.

Has your client not outlined how long he would like to employ you for? Is this more of a rolling contract?

Yes it is more rolling contract without any start and ending dates.

If you are going to do a revenue share, make sure you have a solid contract in place. I would also have a lawyer look over the agreement to protect yourself. You also want to makes sure he can't just block you off from the websites, Analytics, etc... I've done revenue shares quite a few times and they rarely have worked out. One of those times I had to sue the other party and no one ever wins in that situation. At this point, I either charge them my normal fees for the marketing, or I take some kind of ownership in the project. Just my 2 cents.
