I made a $100 payment via PayPal on 22nd May, funded by my debit card. I filed a dispute and a claim, but unfortunately lost and didn't get my money back. If I call my bank to claim a chargeback, what should I tell them? Should I say that the seller didn't fulfil his obligation? Or that the transaction was unauthorised? Any advice would be much appreciated!

What was the payment for? And why do you want to get your money back? Have you spoken to the merchant / seller?

Only way you'll get it back now is if you say transaction was unauthorised

Payment was for "coaching" from a BHW member who is now banned, and I want my money back because he didn't offer anything of value and was simply encouraging VCC fraud. I spoke to him and he refused to issue a refund.

But if I've filed a claim against the charge with PayPal and it wasn't for the transaction being unauthorised, wouldn't that raise warning bells?

Why don't you put him is 'Shit list' or publicize his username then ? You can save others from being scammed ..

Because he's now banned. He was offering coaching without approval of BHW admin - but if you want to know, it was professional20.

Raw... I'll call the bank and see what I can do without claiming it to be unauthorised.

I got coaching from professional20 also. He was full of shit.

I tried filing a dispute but it didn't overturn.

I'm thinking of calling my bank also.

I'm sorry to hear that I wasn't the only one who got mugged off - I'll let you know what my bank says!

He had me pay $100 upfront even though it was supposed to be $50 first, $50 later.

    What about you?

And I'm thinking about calling my bank too.

I called my bank and the advisor didn't know what a chargeback was
After doing more research myself, I realise that I don't think I can request one because it was paid via a debit card (not a credit card or Visa debit), so unfortunately I don't have any protection aside from PayPal themselves.

    Mastercard debit?

Just say there was a transaction unauthorized and you need it reversed, don't ask for a chargeback.

I told him everything I knew about making money from PussyCash before I paid him, and he said that it wouldn't last and that he had more information. When I paid, he just sent me a shitty e-book that is already public, and its just about VCC fraud.

The only other 'information' he could give me were the "shaving days" of PussyCash, which he probably just makes up. He also said that the only way I could get that information is to PM him everyday and wait for him to respond as to whether its a shaving day or not, which is useless as we're in completely different timezones and so I wouldn't get his 'information' in time.

I wish I'd spent more time looking through BHW and developing my own methods rather than be a typical noob and do what I did. Ah well, if I get my shit sorted, I should be able to make that money back without too many problems :)

It?s a Solo debit card, and I'm reluctant to claim it as unauthorized due to having previously filed a claim with PayPal against the charge (and I didn't claim it as unauthorized, just undelivered).

You might as well just count your losses and move on and use this lesson for the future.

When you invest even more than what you were scammed, which you probably eventually will.. You'll research the person and how they do business. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
