I’ve tested chapters on a few of my videos. They can help retention if the content is long 10–15 mins because viewers find what they need faster and don’t drop off. But if the video is short, chapters sometimes make people skip around and leave earlier. For me, the best results came when I placed the first chapter after a strong hook around 30–45s so viewers were already engaged before skipping.
