if i changed the first half of a descritions in one of my ranking youtube videos, including link would it effect my ranking in google 1st page?

Yes it will. When Google re-crawls your video and see a change in description, it will affect your rankings.

anyone know if there is a way to change a link and some description in youtube without loosing ranking?

I don't think it would matter much if you changed a little bit of the description, but if you changed a lot of it I'm sure it would effect your ranking in some way, either good or bad.

Agree on part with BENNY8877. Try not to change keywords that your video is ranked for. I think you'll be alright.
