Changing Verified Twitter Username

Hello,

I have heard a handful of people separately tell me that they know people who successfully have had their usernames changed on Twitter. I cannot find ANY information on this. I have a verified account, really want to change the username. Thanks in advance

Some yes, they do that. I have a verified account and I want to change the name to something else but it is just dangerous so I dont do it

I feel like there has to be a way to keep it if you get it to change... It's automated, they don't scout accounts. Plus it's my personal twitter so wont get banned for buying an account or botting

During the ancient days (read: 2012), Twitter announced that they would remove the verified status of those who want to change their handle.

Fast forward to now, I've read an article about this last week, and they are still saying the same thing.

So if you want to keep your verified status, don't change your handle.

I know for a fact that many users are doing it, and only getting caught/in trouble when they get reported
