Hello guys,

I have a cars page on Instagram currently at 96,000 followers which I grew up to this point for 11 months, so I am expecting to hit 100,000 before i officially reach one year on Instagram. I started the car page, because of my passion for cars and honestly I didn't even care about the money, because I quite frankly enjoyed uploading car photos and looking at unique images. I see so many people banking quite good money with this size account, so I'd also like to get involved, because who doesn't need extra cash right? My page gets between I would say 4000 - 5000 likes per photo, which I think is quite good and I've done a few shoutouts here and here, but very inconsistent. I see people with 60 - 70k in the fashion niche doing advertisement non-stop and I'm quite jealous haha, I'm thinking of slowly moving towards a different niche or mixing it up with my car page - My idea is to upload 2 unique car photos a day and 1 photo in the luxury niche maybe, so for example yacht photos, watches etc. What do you think about this and what would you suggest is the best for me? Thanks.

P.S: I created a second account in the luxury / fashion niche a month ago and it's currently at 13k followers.

Sorry for the second comment in a row, but forgot to add this - I think an issue is that since the beginning my page name is focused on cars, my logo includes my page name and my e-mail in the bio also includes cars or to put it in simple words - everything on my page as a name, logo is related to cars so I think this might be a problem?

i think mixing is a good way ..... to change the niche completely not.
so your plan 2 car pics then 1 luxury sounds good to me.

I think it's a good Idea to mixing up! Keep your account with quality and interesting uploads to get more good views. Also, If you build your luxury/Fashion account wisely with the good amount of followers then it's also good to you!

Yeah, thank you guys for your feedback. The main problem I guess is that since I started my page it's always been focused on cars, the name has "cars" in it, the logo has "cars" in it and everything is basically focused on cars.. I posted 2 car photos yesterday and one got 4000 likes and the other one got 5500, then I posted a photo with stacks of money and it got like 2000. Do you think I should keep trying or maybe I should try posting photos of - yachts, watches ? I want to do this, because it seems to me like it will be very hard to monetize in the cars niche, I am at 98k followers at the moment, so for sure I will hit 100k before my 1 year official.

There is a common misconception that sponsors want you to have huge follower lists. Kim Kardashian etc makes her money not because she has millions of followers, but because when she says "ooh look at this lovely eyeliner" that eyeliners sales increase. So it is because she has fan engagement and that is what sponsors want.

Your issue seems to be you cannot think of how to monetize a car niche - so your proposed solution is to change the account profile, so it ends up being called "cars xyz" but in reality will have nothing really to do with cars anymore. By your own admission you built the account brand around "cars" not you personally, so your followers are not interested in you but cars. Why do you now think your followers would be more interested in making money than cars and more to the point how could you engage with them on the matter? Pictures of cars is after all why they followed in the first place. If there is no engagement you wont get any sponsors who stay around.

You should spend your time working out how to monetize the car niche rather than re-purposing the account, it is not that difficult. Hint use Google. Or sell it to someone who can and move on.

If you wish to move into other areas, set up a separate account, as you have done with fashion. Else chances are you will probably end up pissing off your car subscribers, they want car pictures, not yachts and piles of cash etc. and you would still make no money as you would have no follower engagement, which is what sponsors want.

You're absolutely right here mate, spot on! I really have no idea how to monetize and i do have a decent amount of followers I mean 100,000 people audience is quite big,

Therefore you have 2 choices for a monetization model...

1. Build high engagement pages and flip them

2. Learn how to monetize them yourself

or some of each

and decide which of those 2 categories the car page is going to fall into, but don't re-purpose.

I should find out a way to start making money mate, even if i sell the account for let's say £1000 (just an example, because i'm not aware of the prices) It comes to £100 per month for a year's worth of work, which seems absolutely ridiculous for the amount of work i've put in - i have built the whole account manually, so that's a lot of hours and my engagement is good i just need to find a way to make money.

@GringoMonkey , if you know how I can monetize my page send me a message i am willing to pay if i have to, cheers.

I say stick to your niche, contact potential clients lloking to sell/promote prudutcs such as car care. eg. car waxes, air fresheners and other cleaning products

I have sold a few, but not really much results after that most people don't even bother replying. I guess I should focus more on growing my fashion account or just start looking for ways to monetize my car account. I am going to hit 100k in 2 days also, which is not bad. I hope people will start contacting me I've left my e-mail in the bio and also have written - DM for Promotion/Ads

Why not get one of the guys here to build you an amazon affiliate site with car products? This is inexpensive and you have more than enough followers for that.

That's what I was actually thinking or maybe a dropshipping site or a T-shirt site, I should give it some thought and pay someone to do it, because I have actually no clue about web design etc.

Don't expect offers to start rolling in if you're serious about making money from it, be active and brainstorm. connect with others. if offers come in see that as a bonus and neat but sitting around and waiting... if this was fishing sometimes just dangling a hook isnt enough and you need to use a big net or, dynamite... what your dynamite is is up to you to find out.

anyways good luck, im in the cars niche too although currentlly only have a network of 29k+ followers (although im working to rapidly increase that number)

Just have a look at the market place many good sellers here. When you have your site set up(Many load a thousand products for you). Then just YouTube for anything you need to know when changing anything on the site. I use virtualpurity for my hosting but he does web design as well and pretty much anything you need . His team is very helpful. Do not know what his pricing is for websites though. Just look his name in search. Ask for a quote easy as that. Amazon application takes about 10 minutes to do.

Hi Mlvanov98,

As I outlined in my original post it is all about engagement and that will determine how much money you make.

I make my money in publishing and, depending on the engagement level, you might be a good fit for my ezine business.

Currently I don't have a car ezine but I do have a fashion one. If we can get something to work for that I would be happy to also look to create a car ezine. Long story short, these ezines are free and make their money through advertising/affiliate revenue and I can give you a cut of that for each subscriber you bring based on their engagement level.
