I used to be able to change my account to "public" to accept all follow requests, however this is not doing what it is supposed to do for me anymore for quite a while now.
On my android device I can clearly see the amount of requests pending, but changing the privacy settings is simply not accepting them anymore.

I'm currently assuming this is a bug of some sort on instagram's end, however I'm not sure.

Please feel free to drop a message below if you are encountering this problem.
Maybe you are reading this right now and thinking "hey I had this before!" and know a way around it, please do let me know!

Also, before anyone chimes in on this;
both my big accounts with 1000+ requests and small accounts with +-100 requests are having this issue, so I am not assuming this is happening based off the amount of requests that are pending.
I might be wrong with that assumption, and if you know I am, again, let me know!

I do not have solution, but I do know what you are talking about. The trick to accept all follow request by changing your privacy to public will accept all request in one shot.

Are you able to request them manually one by one? Maybe IG has changed their way of accepting follow request.

Yes this used to work, but currently is not working for me anymore.

I can accept them one by one, yes, however I am not planning on doing this for the thousands of requests I have pending everyday.

There sure is the possibility of instagram changing this tactic but I sure don't hope so.

This new feature has been made by instragram on purpose. It's a long way to explain the reason (if you want I can tell you), but it has been made to help average small personal accounts, so we can expect that nothing weird is coming for us "big marketers" :)

Probably it will be deleted in the next update, because tons of people are angry about this new feature.

Hey, thanks for your post!

Please do explain what you can on this "feature" and why IG chose to do this! I'm interested to know.
Do you maybe have any sources available where I can read upon this stuff?

I can see people being agry about, because let's be honest, I am too! haha

Anyways, please let me know some more detail, since I was completely unaware of this being a "new feature".
Also could you please explain what you mean with
so we can expect that nothing weird is coming for us "big marketers"

Thanks again and waiting for your response :)

The "so we can expect nothing weird for us" part, means that since this new feature is not one of those sh*tty update in API limits, oauth tokens, scam accounts deleting, we can be happy that finally instagram has done something that is not clearly against us, who exploit the social media marketing to monetize!

About the reason why they introduced this new, awesomely useless feature: literally tons of people with locked privacy profiles was complaining about the "automatic mass acceptation" of followers who ask to follow them.
I'm going to do a generic example: let's say that one person who I don't like tries to follow me. I reject the req, then he asks again, and again, and again.
Now, if I just let this person stay in the waiting-list without rejecting his request, I won't have any notification, and I can continue doing my business without blocking him. But previously, if I decided to temporarily open my privacy to post a pic and write some hashtags, this person would be automatically accepted; so I had to delete his request and then post the picture.
Now all this is not a problem anymore.

I know it can seem stupid, but you have to consider that Instagram has more interest in satisfying average people problems more then ours.

Hope this clarify your questions

Thanks, again, for the reply.

Happy to know they weren't targeting us with this, however I still find it a useless "feature" even for the "average" user.
I mean, is it so hard to block a person?

Anyway, back to what matters, knowing all this, do you think they'll disable / delete the function soon?
You stated earlier that you did, however just a few days ago another update came out and the problem still persists to exist.

Thanks!

Blocking someone is an aggressive thing, ignoring someone and letting him dying in the waiting list is something that average users seem to prefer.
I seriously hope they delete this useless stuff, or at least give us the possibility to activate-deactivate it! Many guys, probably marketers, are really disappointed and they're showing it "cleary" writing comments under every pic Instagram offical account posts.
This said, let's hope, I'm tired of accepting hundreds of people manually breaking my fingers.

If that's the case then a bot can easily accept those requests automatically. ;) You just need to ask the programmer of the bot to update it accordingly.

Can u name any bot which helps in accepting mass insta follow req rather than socialtools?
