I have verizon dsl hooked up to a wirless router, will simply turning my modem off then on again change my ip?

Why don't you check that by yourself instead of asking here ??

If I am not mistaken, DSL changes one time per 24 hours. Check out my post on air cards.

if you are static its 24h

if not, follow these steps:
1. Unplug your modem.
2. Plug it :D

It all depends on your service provider, there's no standard to how long the dhcp can be at all isps. If you find that it never changes, but you're certain you're on dynamic what you can try to do is without releasing your current lease, change the mac of your wireless router's wan port and then powercycle both the modem and the router. This is what us cable modem ppl do to change ips

thanks, how would i check myself?

I used to have a DSL router, not the one you mentioned, but in order to change my static IP address I had to blank out the MAC address on my router interface, leave it for 10 min, and then input the same MAC again. After doing this I would have a new IP. This may or may not work for you.

I hope you have a static IP. For my dynamic IP address, simply disconnecting and connecting won't gives me a new IP address.

You can check your IP @ http://www.modallpods.com
