Changing IP address for stealth account. Please Help.

Hello,

I have pervious experience with stealth accounts, but previously I used internet dongle sticks for my different accounts. Im wondering is there another safe way to do this? Also dose anyone here recommend any brands of dongle to use if I was to use dongles again (UK Based)?

I seen some people mention VPS hosting, but I have no idea what this is, if anyone could explain I would be really grateful.

A VPS is a virtual private server. Basically it's a remote machine you log into and see a desktop like in a local machine. Everything you do from there comes from that IP, not your local one, so basically it looks as if you're sitting in front of that particular PC far away from where you actually are.

I have no idea what an internet dongle stick is so I can't help with that.
 
Thanks a lot, would a VPS be difficult for a noob to use? or is it pretty self explanatory once you bought it?

It depends on the type of the VPS that you decide the use. Some are entirely based on UNIX command code. Others, you'ill see the actual desktop of the operating system you signed up for. Whether that be Linux, Windows XP or Windows 7. They tend to be pretty pricey, usually starting at around $30 per month for basic a basic plan.
 
I used to have MANY stealth accounts when I was in the eBay game (ran anywhere between 12 to 20 at a time). I always used a Verizon Wireless hotspot (kind of like a dongle). I would just turn it off/on and reboot for a new IP. I had a excel spreadsheet to keep track of the IP's so that I did not accidentally use the same one twice (which rarely happens on Verizon: HUGE IP pool). I used that method on eBay for over a year and a half and never was compromised. It was $50/month.

Thanks a lot fo your reply, I ran a stealth account for around 6 months and it was never compromised, I used a dongle stick, and tracked the IP's pn a spread sheet, and like you say, it never gave the same IP address twice. So would it be safe to use the same Dongle stick for all my stealth accounts, as long as it gives me a different IP every time.

Would save me a lot of money on buying loads of different dongles.

Yes, you definitely only need the one. As long as it is giving you a new IP everytime and you have separate user accounts on your computer for each account (so nothing gets "cross-contaminated") you will be just fine. Like I said, I would run anywhere from 12 to 20 accounts at one time with ONE "dongle/hotspot". Now get back on eGay and make some loot!
 
Ya. I tether my iPhone, which works in the very same way that a dongle does, and I don't have to pay that extra $50 fee. Its just an extra $20 on my Verizon cell phone bill, and I am able to get 2GB a month. Which is more then enough to run my 9 accounts on! Hope that helps some! :) Good luck!

I used to tether my iPhone also. I had it on AT&T, which was only 3g, so it was kind of slow. Also, I switched to the Verizon Jetpack because after a few months of tethering my iPhone they changed something and the IP pool shrunk A LOT! Like, I was only getting maybe 10 IPs rotating, which obviously would not work when having 12 - 20 accounts. Verizon's IP pool is just so damn BIG!

Does using different IP actually keep paypal/ebay from knowing who you were? I thought there was much more than that you had to look out for to stay annonymous in their system. Can't they track things on your device that was connected to another account at least once in the past?

When you use a hotspot... and the IPs renew every reboot... are those IPs ever associated with you? For instance, can you just buy a verizon mobile hotspot with your real details and never worry about any of those IPs being connected to you? I have a friedn who let's me use his Verizon Jetpack for when we travel. Can I use my iPhone (real account details associated with iPhone) and Mac (my information associated with mac) on his Jetpack and neither his or my information would ever be associated with those IPs?

Of course they can track of the IPs you've been using by your MAC address, that is unless you change it ;) Some providers bind your MAC Address and if you change it, you won't be able to connect to their server, so no internet for you.

With tethering or a hotspot you share the IP's with other people on the network. Yes, there is a time stamp on who used the IP and when, but eGay or Paypal would need a warrant to get that type info from your provider. And I doubt you are selling anything terribly illegal on eGay. If you are really paranoid you can get a prepaid hotspot or phone and not put in your real details.
 
Wait, so each time you log into an eBay account- the up would be different. Wouldn't that be a red flag?
 
just keep turning your modem on and off at some point your ip should change
 
All you need to do is mac filter your mac address and then reboot you will get a new ip every time.
