Changing IP Address by VPN?

Someone suggested that VPN's were cheap and that I should get one to anonymize my e-mails. Something like $2.00 a month. Is this true?

For $2.00, I could try one out and see how they work. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Any reason why a person couldn't get 10 of these, and rotate through 10 different IP Addresses?

Can they be used for gaming?

Socks5 does the same thing, use widecap or proxifier.

VPN anonymizes all of the traffic coming from your machine, so yes everything such as your gaming, instant messaging, IRC connections, etc. will all be passed through the VPN. Proxies like SOCKS5 only work on applications that have support for them unless you use some 3rd party software but that might leak your DNS or something.

In any case, sure you can get like 10 and rotate through them every once in a while but there shouldn't be any need to.

Your VPN provider choice depends on how anonymous you're willing to be. I haven't seen any decent $2.00 USD per month ones, but the usual decent ones I know are around $5 USD per month.

Are VPN IP Addresses "static" or do they change? How often do they change? How difficult is it to initiate a change?

If I'm using a VPN, shouldn't email sent via Outlook Express have the VPN's IP Address in the Header, and not the IP Address of the VPN?

I've just noticed that emails sent by Outlook Express while I'm using a free proxy still contain my ISP IP Address in the header. Most disturbing.

If you just want to learn, then really any VPN service will do. Relakks is a popular one and a good price. I can't vouch personally because I haven't used them in a long time but I'm sure other members on here might be able to refer you to better ones these days.

If you are talking about the public IP shown to the internet while you were passing through it, that all depends on the service the VPN provider is running. It's up to them to change it, you cannot do anything about their server setup (unless you set up your own VPN server on a server or something). Some VPN services allow you to purchase a VPN with a dedicated IP, meaning you don't share it with anyone else, because other subscribers using the service will also be using the same public IP as yourself otherwise.

If you're using a proxy on your browser, then that has nothing to do with 3rd party applications such as Outlook. The proxy is only used for the browser, and nothing else. A VPN will relay all of your traffic from every program you use that uses the internet.

I appreciate the detail of your answer. In it's configuration setings, where you select "how you want to connect to the internet", Outlook Express claims that it is going to use the Internet Explorer's default connection, yet when I connect Interent Explorer to a proxy, Outlook Express sends the IP address my ISP gives me. I'm wondering if this is normal, or if I have percieved what's happening incorrectly, or if there is something wrong with my machine.

I started to sign-up with Relakks, but stopped because:
1) It's in Europe and I'd rather deal within the US.
2) They want paid in Euros
3) The don't take PayPal
4) They want my name, physical address, state, city, country, mothers maiden name, sexual orientation, the grade I got in the second quarter of my sophmore year in Aviation Science and my Social Security Number.

The price conversion was 5 euros for 3 months = $7.00 US = @$2.33 per month.

multiple proxies can also be used for global apps, not only for 3rd party software which has proxy setting in it, use mproxy and proxifier.

input your proxies to mproxy, and then set mproxy ip and port listen interface (something like 127.0.0.1:8000 or anything else), and then setting proxifier proxy to mproxy ip and port interface, set proxification rules to all and exclude mproxy, name resolution choose remotely, happy rotating proxy.

note: for x64 OS, there are some 3rd party software that cannot be proxified with proxifier
