I want to transfer my wordpress blog from hostgator to namecheap hosting. Can I just make mySQL in namecheap and upload my public_html to namecheap nameserver? Or is it little bit more complicated to do that? :grouphug:

I think you can ask Namecheap to transfer the files for you or do it yourself.

Go to the WordPress config file change it to the new database name and PW so it works with DB in Namecheap. Then export the SQL files from HG and import it into MYSQL in namecheap.

Do they both use cPanel by any chance?

If they do, as nerrvana says, ask Namecheap to do a server to server transfer - thats it done then :)

All you have to do is change your nameservers and you should be happy.
