Hello all :D

I bought a website (not sure if I can post the domain) the domain contains two keywords that get 110,000 and 673,000 searches per month (exact search not broad). The website is on page 4 of Google, the person I bought it from made 0 money through adsense, and 0 through affiliate links.

I have changed the site completely it was a paid directory, and I switched it too a forum that is a more user friendly. But backlinks for the site are listed for the directory and Google hasn't updated the pages yet.

I am a little unsure how to gain ranking in Google under this new model. Should I made a free sub directory and promote that, or just promote the new model, and forget the old backlinks?

If your wondering why I bought the site its is because I think it has a lot of potential.

Well, you can try a 301 redirect that will redirect all missing links (404's) to the homepage. That way you don't lose any of your backlinks.

Thanks for the information. Would you also suggest blasting a few thousand links out with SB? Or don't take the risk of it doing into a dance? The domain is about a year and a half old if that makes a difference.
