Changing a personal profile to a fan page

Hey Guys,

what are your experiences with turning a dummy account into a fanpage??

do you lose a lot of likes "friends" when you make the transformation? i was thinking of making my dummy account with 3000 untargeted likes into a fanpage (just so people would see a lot of likes and they would be more inclined to like it)

what do you guuys think and what are your experiences with this.

Something from my experience:

1. Think before you leaving the old name. Depending on what you want to get from your future page, you should change first and last names, because fb will not allow a different name of the page. However fb has a very strict filtering system on names of personal accounts.

2. Change your profile picture on what you want to see as your future fb page before migrating. Otherwise that old profile picture will stick as your default thumbnail image when you're leaving comments or likes as a page, even if you change page's profile picture.

3. You don't lose any of your existing friends. They all will transform into likes. However if you have any pending friend requests, they will be not transformed into likes. So accept all requests before migrating.

4. Engagement rates of old personal profile vs. future fb page are somewhere similar.
