Changes to YT Monetization Rules in 2018

Hey BHWers

I have not kept up with YT monetization in recent times and the changes they have made.

I have heard they made changes to YT making it a higher barrier to entry to become part of the YT partners program in terms of viewing hours and subscribers.

Does anyone know if they made any other changes besides these such as to the pay schedule per 1k views or any other pertinent changes someone should know?

Yeah there has been a few changes. Eligibility requirements for monetization were increase but are still very low so not an issue. They are currently 4,000 watch hours in the previous 12 months and 1,000 subscribers. The problem YouTube has is they are manually reviewing all channels as to avoid monetizing 'bad actors' so there's quite the backlog, YouTube says turn around time on approvals is a month or so.

They have changed a lot of thing , now if you want to be monetized :

- 1k Sub
- 4000 hours watchtime
- No copyrighted content ( Compilation channel...)

Its very hard to get approved, you really need to do original content
People who just reupload a video will never get monetized, they can even get a strike
