I was wondering if anyone else that uses Google.co.uk has noticed that in the last week, as opposed to the SERPs defaulting to UK pages, they now default to "pages from the web" - If so, does anyone know if this is a permanent change?

Yes Neil I've seen that too also noticed much more geo targeted sites appearing too. I'm optimising more and more for local search terms.

I think local search is the way forward - easier to rank for, and get better roi

put the keywords in the domain name, make sure the address and phone number are on the site or blog (the address can be a local serviced office) stick it on Google Business center, add 6 pics and name them with keywords ad a vid to youtube with tags and bingo first page of google within 24 hours for some pretty competitive keywords.....as the meerkat says SIMPLES!
