Change YouTube thumbnail can drop rank?

But I change video title, description before and it drop my keywords rank in past.
I just upload for testing purposes and my video rank but the thumbnail is not good
I will lose rank sure for this thumbs.

no nothing gonna happen, you can even rank more than you did it. youtubers keep changing there's thumbnail to get more viewers
to watch. just keep the title you can add emojis or something and everything it's will be fine. i did it before so don't worry you will not lose your rank.

Thumbnail has no effect in dropping your video. It just hast CTR effect based on how good or bad it is, from user perspective and nothing from YT algo perspective.
Don't change Title or description which is the YouTube SEO of things and will affect your video ranking.

Thumbnail can be updated anytime as long as you realized its bad or not up to the mark, you can tweak it. No rank drop will occur for it.

Your YouTube thumbnail affects only your CTR. So if with your new pic you're CTR is lowered, you will get less views because users less likely to click on your video but thats all.

I don't know this, but it happen to me last week -_- the price really hit me hard because the video is flying with organic recommendation and views, dam. A lesson that really make you think hard for the rest of the week. thanks for the info.

you can always re optimize your title and thumbnail of an old video.
based on my exprience it can either drop or increase rankings.
sometimes re optimization on an old video can allow it to enter recommendations later, if the title and thumbnail is good.

it will change ranking, if you change thumbnail and do few changes in title and description. it can either increase or decrease ranking. It was said by official creator inside channel
CTR can affect your ranking. But thumbnail is the main ingredients for CTR. So this means that your ranking is INDIRECTLY affected because of thumb, NOT the thumb itself.

last paragraph, confirmed 2 weeks ago. Do a single upload setting seo like the last videos as usual, then when I'm changing my organic view videos pure with recomendation traffic (the last before upload) title and description. really death traffic in just 12-24 hours mark.
I'm still struggle to wake these videos again after almost 3 weeks now. 2 days ago, upload another videos, look like it doesn't survive the death stream.
