Change links from home page to inner landing page?

What would you do if mostof your good links were pointed to your home page rather than inner links?

Would it look shady for them to change from home page to inner page ?

Another thread on this topic got me thinking cause we did do a lot of SEO towards the home page which doesn't have a lot of content but is still based on the niche topic.

Don't do that, leave it on homepage, but continue doing more backlinks on inner page if you want to rank. Homepage is always good to be powerful for any future niches that u try to rank if it's multiniche site.

The link juice will pass down, but you might get a penalty if you pulled a redirect. I would just keep linking the subpage
