change color of pattern

I found http://subtlepatterns.com/tag/light/page/6/ with all the great patterns, but they are all grey.
I presume that's because to easy change color.
How do you do that in Photoshop or Gimp?
What's the keyword so I can search?

Easy - within the Gimp Menu: go to Colors select Colorize and adjust to the colors you want...

In Photoshop: Images > Adjustments, then there is a bunch of coloring options
