I have 50 post....
why can't I upload my own avatar yet? Do I just need to wait and try again tomorrow? Or am I missing something here? Also, I have been a member for over a month.

In some cases, this limitation lasts up to 100 posts. In my case, I had to wait for a long time before I could actually upload my custom avatar. Wait for a day or two and make few more comments. And yeah, the file size can be maximum 19 KB. Make sure, you comply this requirement.
