Chaned a posts link, now its in google twice.

So I changed the post urls to remove category base as they were too long and my site is relatively new so I thought no problem, but now in google both are indexed.

Is this a problem that will solve itself with a recrawl or do I need to do something?

do a 301 from one post to other or delete one in webmaster

301 it to your new post link with a redirection plugin and wait it out.

As others said best way is to use a plugin and set 301 redirect. but if you're in hurry you can also request removal from google search console

If you want it to be done fast then you can request removal from google search console
