    Hello everyone,

I noticed a lot of you posted a journey and I noticed a lot of good ideas and determination around so I will tell you my story so far as maybe it will inspire others as well and maybe I will get some feedback from pro's on this.

I'm maybe at the middle of my journey already but I have big plans ahead.

I started in 2009 with a cheap .info from Godaddy which did not bring too much money for at least 1 year as it was not really attended. Around the summer of 2010 when I was jobless I started to dig into affiliate marketing. I already had some personal blogs I maintained but which did not make any money at all due to poor traffic on personal blogs and given the fact that they were all in my native language.

While I was reviewing possibilities for some affiliate marketing I joined this forum among others and noticed autoblogs mentioned for 1st time. I got a .us domain off ebay at $2 which has a good keyword and was in the automotive niche and put up an autoblog on it using wp-o-matic and mostly free plugins I could find to be useful. Within 3 months of some manual backlinks the blog reached 200 UV daily but I wanted more so I paid an Xrumer blast on fiverr for 4k links but I was delivered over 7k links. At that time I was also doing around $100 weekly of fiverr by doing random jobs. I had few gigs available but I was closely watching the requests and proposing my service.

After the blast my site started rising, the autoblog already posted around 3k posts and I was getting around $300 per month out of this only. Cheap build, fast work and very low quality if you ask me. But it did earn it's money for a while.

Then I saw another nice name on ebay which I got around $3 at auction. It was a .ws domain name in the adult niche so I said well if one autoblog worked why wouldn't the second one?

I set up the second autoblog on the adult niche and since the domain I initially got in 2009 was also adult intended I set up a third one on it as well and I bought 2 more sites under $50 with some content on them and over 250 UV's per day on which I added autoblogs. They are all on adult niche.

By the time I got all the 5 autoblogs setup I got a 9-5 job and my available time decreased drastically. I tried as much as possible to keep them tidy and up to date but could not actually do any effective work on them or even SEO so I let them be and insured they were up and running and did some simple maintenance. While these sites remained mostly unattended in what concerns content and SEO they were still making around $500 per month out of AdSense and JuicyAds only. AdSense was doing good on the automotive blog due to high CPC rates while the adult sites were doing badly given the $0.01 CPC's but I did not give up as it was more than I expected anyhow.

All the money gained got reinvested. I was first on a Godaddy hosting, then moved to Hostgator but after resource usage issues I moved onto a VPS with Hostgator as well but since it was still giving me headaches with memory errors and killing my traffic I went for a reseller plan with Lunarpages.

Hosting was really cheap around that time and did not pass $25 per month so I was determined to upscale the whole deal but I no longer wanted autoblogs due to partially garbage content which implied reviewing by hand some articles.

So I started buying more domains. I never spent a fortune on domains, I frequently check ebay, see a name I like and has good keywords so I add it to the watch list. Then if the price does not go above $5 within the last 5 seconds I bid on it. I also use some forums to buy domain cheap and of course expireddomains.net and a lot of coupons. I also bought some sites with low traffic and little content. I never paid more than $10 per domain and never paid more than $50 per a website because I never considered they were worth more given their state.

By the time I was getting 1 year since my first autoblog I made my first mistake. I bought a music download site due to the script and easy integration. I added AdSense to it but it was a big NO NO and after a while it got my account banned for lack of "Contact US, DMCA, Privacy Policy" pages and so on. Obviously the content was part of the ban as well although nothing was hosted on the site but just linked.

AdSense was by then the main source of income for my sites an came from the automotive site mostly so when my account got banned my earnings dropped with $300 but luckily JuicyAds was growing so I did not stop. I went further.

I switched from AdSense to Smowtion and did not attend the automotive site further. Then I let the music site expire as I had it bought for the script only and I did not like the domain (a .biz).

The adult sites were doing pretty well between $100 and $200 per month but as they grew they needed more resources so obviously a reseller plan was not a good deal so I went on my first dedicated server.

Domains bought previously started coming up for renewal so besides the increased cost in hosting fees I saw an increase in expenses with domain renewal as well.

Since I did not want to spend money out of my pocked I let some domains go, mainly .info's I got cheap or free. Then I focused on domains I could not develop easily and let them go as well. Eventually I got back some domains that expired by repurchasing them once they went deleted. This risking for them to be purchased by others as well and that did happen.

By the beginning of 2012 I was running around 5 adult autoblogs and they were starting to earn the money. Again no SEO was done to them, NADA. Just by search engine index and nothing else.

But obviously along with the higher traffic higher hardware needs were noticed so I went over 9 months ago up on a 32GB RAM and 8 CPU with 4TB HDD dedicated server which should give me peace of mind for the time being.

At the same time I stopped doing autoblogs and focused on clean content sites. I set myself a target around that time of 300 sites including the existing autoblogs which should make $1 per day each. Not a far target if you ask me considering the fact that the .ws adult autoblog I mentioned earlier makes around $5 per day by itself with 4k autoblog posts which are just rotating on the frontpage no longer adding content. The money is made mostly by CPC/CPM from Juicyads, Plugrush and Yllix.

Since adult niche went well I focused on adult subniches intending to add around 3k-5k articles on each, mainly image galleries and videos embedded from other providers.

So I will go ahead and upscale now. I'll get around 50-70 adult sites on subniches with enough content on them, besides CPC/CPM I am also going to add CPA and affiliate offers in their niches and see how it goes.

However besides adult I also went forward with other niches as well. I've started doing the layout for all sites using Artisteer and added some content but also paid content writers to add articles.

I have been targeting a lot of niches, some harder and other easier however I believe it is place for everyone. Meanwhile my list of domain ideas reached over 1k domains to buy as .com, .net, .org, .us, .eu, .asia and .biz and I have been purchasing domains based upon my availability to add content easy. Right now I got CPC on all sites I have with content so far from the following:

Adult: Juicyads, Plugrush, Yllix, Ero Ads, ExoClick, AdXpansion, Impresiones Web and my very own banner network delivering affiliate banners through OpenX
Non Adult: AdSense (I got a new account), Smowtion, Yllix, Impresiones Web, Chitika, SponsorAds, E-Target and some CPA's again with OpenX from Affili.Net, Tradedoubler, Matomy Market

With the $ continuing to rise and sites I have rising as well I've set another target for the upcoming 2 years which is 500 websites doing $1 per day each. It may be far fetched but I know I can do it :)

As soon as I finish the fist batch of 100 domains in terms of content I will go ahead with offsite SEO, whitehat mostly because I want it to be effective in the future.

Maybe you're asking what I'm gaining right now. Well effectively nothing because everything I gain goes on server fees, domain renewals, articles and some new domain purchases. Since I am targeting multiple niches the potential is unlimited but the work is gonna be a killer so besides my 9-5 job I have started to allow 4 hours daily to do the sites.

Wish me luck and go ahead and provide your feedback. If you have questions or wish more details about advertisers, niches or methods I can help. I won't give out too much insight though otherwise it would not be that effective for me.

And yes I invested in software too, Scrapebox, ThemaPoster, MultiPoster 7, some TumblR bots and several others.

Thanks guys, it is a lot of data and obviously there's more insight, more or less mistakes regarding hosting and stuff and issues but in the end I hope to make the target I've set
