I was just watching a video at chaddo*com about how to verify a google places listing via po box...

    Basically:

    1483 Your Address
    Po Box 53454
Your City, State (First Line Address's zipcode)

But - I WANT TO know how to setup and verify a google account in Chicago, if I live in Ohio...

His new course is coming out on the 18th, but seriously - I'm not gonna pay a bunch of money for one tiny secret tip.

Anyone got ideas how to crack this hack wide open?
    Let me know. Thanks!

My guess is it may have something to do with renting some sort of po box that forwards mail to a different location.

Check out UPS. They have services in all major cities that have a physical address. I set this up in a town nearby. I did go in person to do this, but I think you could do it online or via snail mail. Good luck :)

If I were you, I would try a virtual office or a cheap "Executive Suite" that forwards mail. We are doing that in a few states to dominate a small business niche.

seriously that po box thing is an old technique. I need phone verification not postcards. I had over 15,000 listings up until the algos started changing and panda was released. Now all gone! I'm hopeing chaddo has something but my worry is if hes posting it on his website google will buy it and nip the techniques in the but!!!! I wish he wouldnt post this stuff on his site...It leaves it an open footprint

It'll be exactly what was suggested by lobozebra. The 'secret' will be to hire a cheap virtual office, or have an accountant/solicitor register a business at their address, or something similar.

UPS mailboxes don't work...I have tried it twice at remote locations. The postcards DO arrive but even once you activate, the listing will go to 'pending review' hell.

I've got a guy I have used who gets listings online for me. It's like $5 cheap, but its affordable for the kind of business you can get from it. PM me if you are interested in the contact. He's a member here but I can't remember his name. I'll give you his skype

Some say ups boxes work, others say they don't, but i think it might depend on how you enter the address in g'places. For instance i wouldn't put "PMB" on there. The carrier who delivers to the UPS store will know what you mean if you just entered the addy as such:

    1234 Main Street #47
    New York, New York 10001

or if the UPS is located in a strip mall or something it will probably have a suite address, so i'd address it like this:

    1234 Main Street Suite 200 #47
    new york, ny 10001

From what i hear, all new businesses will need to be post card verified. Phone verification is only available to businesses that are already listed in g' places, but aren't claimed yet.

As for Chaddo's "hack", yeah that might work, but my day job used to be a mailman and i can say it will probably take longer to receive that card. Most carriers don't give a shit and will send that shit back, maybe even a few times.

The thing is VO's aren't cheap, at least i have yet to find one. DavinciVirtual has locations all over starting at $50/m, but they also require a 6 month contract and a $125 setup fee --- which is fucking bullshit. I mean what is there to setup? All they probably do is enter some shit in the computer.

How did you address it? He gets you a virtual address for $5? I'm interested in some details as i'm about to jump in and dominate a market.

I just thought of a good method .... Especially say you're trying to get SEO or Mobile / Local businesses - - this actually kills two birds with one stone..

    1. Hire a commission/only Account Rep to work from home. Pay them like $2-300 per client. Then use their address as your satellite business location, have them verify all your business listings.

Submit it to Foursquare/Google/Yelp/CitySearch -- use his phone# as all business clients wanting your services in that city would go through him..

Rinse and repeat, kinda like an SEO/Social Media / Mobile / Offliner /etc Franchise system.

    Anyone try anything like this?

Try Executive Suites. They are $50/m but they don't require a long-term contract. Plus, they are all over the place.

Don't waste your money on the course. He copied my scrapebox method for citations and had it as one of the videos. There's nothing else in it that's groundbreaking either.

I purchased 10 boxes with UPS and 8 of them stuck with Google. My company registered them in areas where we then paid someone on Craigslist to pick up the envelope and tell us the code. Unfortunately the last 2 we bought, Google didn't allow us to use it. 8/10... not bad!

but i'm afraid google is aware of the ups store thing. i kind of did an informal analysis last month of the businesses that use ups store suites consistently ranked lower in a couple of cities i checked. now of course there can be other factors involved though.

Yeah and there's even competing businesses complaining on Google forums about virtual offices and fake addresses ranking on Places. Goog employees responding they are aware of this and trying to adapt systems to "address" this.

The commission sales rep idea is a good one, too. Just advertise on CL in the city of choice. You'll probably pick up a few candidates in case one drops out.
