Is it OK to register celebrity domain names?

something like:

ChrisEvansMuscle.com
KatyPerryDiet.com

Are you sure?

Just want to built site around those celebrity name and trying earn with clickbank product or adsense.

I have and no problems so far. What's the worst that can happen, they make you give it up?

These kinds of domain names would need some real substance, no made up or common infos.

Using this sort of domain name you could do a lot more than just clickbank and AdSense! Set your sights higher.

The only thing you need to watch out for though is infringing on the brand of the celebrity in question. Do that and as soon as you get some good ranking you COULD become a target.

Go for it!

I don't think that you can create a new CB product with the name of a celebrity or even post pictures with the specific individual. But you could register however, because there isn't only one person called like that in all this world :)

how about reselling? Will, in the future, someone offer a high price for these domains?

It's hard to say. It really depends on how bad someone wants to buy the site you created and how well you design, monitize, and market it. I've sold some crappy sites for good money and some great sites for a little. You never know!

Reviving this thread in case anyone who missed it the first time sees it now and has useful opinions or actual experience.

Can you lose your domain if it has a celebrity name in it? I'm assuming you'd have content about the celebrity, too - why else would you have the domain?

I suppose if the content was untruthful in some way it would be more risky? Or does free speech protect such sites and the domain?
