[CB] Direct Linking - My experience

well, i never created any LP. I used direct linking and got 3 orders on my CB without buying any traffic. Sometimes, u don't get sales even at such high hops and sometimes u get sales at 1 hop. So wait for it, keep working and u'll surely get sales. ;) also u should use free traffic sources too. :)

cloacking the affiliate link by using domain names is a must. If you send traffic to top products (they normally have good selling pages) a landing page can only make you lose a nice % of the buyers. Conversions will be better or worse depending on how targeted your source is.

Hi there,

Buy a domain name + website + Cloak your links + send visitors to a presell page + opt-in + follow up with prospects and only then send them all to the vendor's page.

Mike.

Since you said you are using a variety of traffic sources (YT, PPV, etc...), I'd start by using a separate TID for each. That way, you can see the different conversion rates for each, and this will give you an insight into which one to focus.

In addition, make sure that what you are saying in your video or ads, matches what visitors see on the vendor's page. For example, if you say that the price of the product is $15 but when they go on the vendor's page it's actually $47, they'll most likely not buy.

Tracking your links is not relevant to the issue at hand. Using middle pages can not
only warm up the prospect and convert better, it could also help you gather emails, sell more stuff and overcome many of the tough terms of most PPC networks nowadays.

Mike.

I strongly disagree. It is if 95% of hops are coming from source A and got him 0 sales, while the 5% coming from source B got him 2 sales. He might think that he's getting 2 sales per 800 hops, but they might actually be coming from 50 hops.

What I meant was that it was obvious and obligatory to track ones traffic sources
yet this was not the question presented by the OP who's currently directing all traffic
to the vendor's page.

Mike.

It's not obvious to everyone; you'll be surprised how many affiliates do not make use of TIDs.

Once the pre-sell pages are in place, you also need to track the different links. E.g. are most of your clicks and sales coming from the banner advertisement on the top of the page, or from the 'buy' link at the bottom...or are they mostly coming from the emails, etc...?

Tracking of links and continuous split-testing of the pages and email campaigns should be your new best friends :)

The point was that tracking is obvious to most and the issue is irrelevant to this thread.
Either way, the OP should use middle pages with good presell triggers and gather prospects emails to enhance conversions and increase his bottom line.

Mike.

The OP asked for "any suggestions" and that's what I did. The importance of pre-selling had already been mentioned, so instead of repeating that, I reminded the OP of the importance of using separate TID depending on source, as from our experience, many affiliates forget about this.

No need for continuously calling others' advice as irrelevant when we're all trying to help each other here. If the OP feels I'm giving him/her irrelevant advice, I'll be happy to hear it from them. But I don't see a point for you to do so.

The OP did not ask for ANY advice. We could have taken the discussion away
to copywriting matters or even moral issues related to preselling, but I thought we should stick to the issue at hand. Also, be advised that there is an unseen ethical rule to
keep the discussion within the limits of the subject dictated by
the OP. That said, the OP does not own my opinion (nor did he yet commented on our little discussion) and if I think some folks say irrelevant stuff just to be heard, be sure I will say so.

Mike.

I am mostly in content locking and never really tried selling something.. I am seriously thinking of starting with CB.. This suggestion will surely help me. Thanks

I meant "all or nothing" advice. The OP asked for specific guidance regrading direct linking, not about the history and philosophy of internet marketing.

Mike.

Again, please do read the original post before going all trigger-happy on other members who are just trying to help out. Embarking on pointless flame wars is not particular helpful to the community.

From OP: "Any suggestions or words to cheer me up"
