Caution when you use death by captcha! Be aware!!!!!

I had bought quite a few Captchas from DBC and I did not use them fast enough so they took them away from me. Be careful as they now told me that in their terms of service if you don't use all you captchas in 270 days they will take them from you. I slowed down using them because they started to be not very acurate and I was giving them a chance to catch up with themselves but instead they just took all my credit. The money doesn't bother me. What bothers me as they give you no warning as they just take them. Who in the hell reads the terms of service on any website?

So if you use them my advice would be to buy small increments and know that you will use them up fast.

Have you pm the dbc owner on bhw about this..? im sure he will settle this for you..a couple days ago i have problems with a lot of wrong captcha, and its actually solved correctly but he is kind enough to give me free credit..
 
I didn't know he was on BHW. Who is that?
 
I asked about this and they said it was intentional for "book keeping" reasons.

Pretty stupid if you ask me, I stopped using their services a few months ago for different reasons though so it's not really applicable. Plus since they don't offer bulk incentives there really isn't much of a point in buying too much at a time.
 
I still have some captchas credits with DBC and order from ImageTypers, DBC cost is going up and so many returning as invalid, So far so good on the ImageTypers. I used to like DBC but quality has gone down and price gone up.
 
Update: DBC had a talk with me and we worked out our differences.
 
Thats pretty week if they are doing that. Also agree with another poster that its lame they don't offer discounts when buying in bulk.
 
I dont agree with them taking away your captchas once you've bought them there yours...

Also I think there should be a bulk discount as well, as I use alot! of them each month.

Either way im glad they have sorted it out for you :)
 
If you buy a prepaid debit card and don't use the funds in about 270 days, or something close, they take the funds.
 
They're really getting fuck up.
I hate their night time compensation shit, which requires us to pay 33% or more.

Other captcha services which aren't that popular doesn't do such charges.
DeathbyCaptcha has so many customers and have been in the business so long; and they are the ONLY ONE to implement this shitty compensation shit.

Look at ImageTyperz, ShaniBPO, and such. They are younger than DBC and they are charging cheaper than them. Yet, they don't have any "night time compensation". And their accuracy is way much higher.

Now my perception on their company is they are just greedy bastards. They will lose all their positive image sooner or later, or perhaps it has already happened.

I also had my credits revoked for not using them within 270 days.
I reluctantly purchased more credits, but a much smaller quantity this time round (I have learned my lesson).

Same thing happened recently with my pre-paid mobile phone credit after not spending it within a year.
I completely agree with what one of the commentors said. Purchased credit should be yours indefinitely! Time limits are BS

To add insult to injury, the failure rate of DBC for repatcha has gone through the roof. At least in my testing over the last few days.
 
Copyscape also does this shit after a year. Its pretty lameskis.

- About our expiration policy

Our packages have an expiration date per accounting policies. Other services have similar policies as well, most likely per similar reasons.

It's worth noting that if you make another purchase within the 270 days time-frame your credits will NOT expire.

- Bulk discounts

Even thou we're not offering any discounts at the moment, if you think you're sending a significant amount of CAPTCHA volume daily, please contact me or support to check on your situation, as we may be able to work something out (this will be done on a case by case basis).

- NightShift Fee:

As stated before, we needed to increase our rates during certain peak hours of the day (if you use the service outside peak hours this won't affect you) in order to fulfill our customer's needs properly. I know it's a burden for you, our valuable customers, but please note that in return we are aiming to offer a virtually overload-free, stable service at all hours.

Unfortunately, the service has been pretty loaded recently due some extended holidays in our worker's countries (which all other services alike have been suffering for as well). We expect the situation to return back normalcy by the end of the week/beginning of the next one.

I believe this is what we all should do. Sorry for moralizing, but you no way should assume anything for other people, especially for internet merchants.
 
i think it is unfair.... but it teaches me a lesson, do not buy too much credit one time
