Ok, I have a real problem.
I have an interesting project I've been working on that I think can become popular if I get the site design and promotion right. If it takes off, there are so many ways I'll be able to monetize it, I get chills just thinking about it. (it's DoubleSuperTopSecret, so don't ask. LOL)

A local business wants me to build them a website and promote it for them. I'll make share of revenue for all online sales of the products they already sell in their shop. This is a great niche, so I'm really excited about the potential. They've assigned some of their employees to do work for me as I request it. Writing articles, doing graphic design, etc. Not just for work I'm doing for them, but to use for any of my other projects as well. Plus they'll check with me for any of their advertising from now on so I can make sure it is optimized for attracting online sales even from local customers.
I have another website I need to build for a hobbiest that sells kits locally for a pretty popular product. He already has videos on youtube, tons of pics on a myspace account, but no clue how to utilize all of that. Hes already making a living just selling locally by word of mouth. I'll be totally in charge of the website and online sales, hell make all the kits and take my feedback on which ones we need to focus on to maximize sales potential.
I'm in charge of a website for a Christmas charity organization. Now it's the time of year I need to start getting with the organizers to make sure the info is online for this year's event. Adding content regarding local citizens and businesses that will be supporting the event this year. And a variety of other things I need to get done for it. Part of the benefit my other customers get by using me is that I can make sure they get listed as supporters on the website. The charity loves it because I can get them products and services to use for raffles, etc. to raise more money for the charity.
So what am I doing about it? Am I finding a nice template and recoding the html and css pages to make it work for one of the businesses? Or better yet starting from scratch with a design and coding it to work? Am I setting up some wp sites to use for part of my projects? Am I setting up a new domains on my reseller account. Have I made any progress setting up an ecommerce site so I can start adding inventory and promoting the online stores? Have I been doing any backlinking or other seo for my existing sites, or mapping out a plan for the new sites?
No, I haven't been doing any of that.
Hell I'm not even consistently taking care of my existing sites. Logging in to check my stats, making sure the auto paypal features are working for my info products. I check my email everyday, but randomly skip a few that could potentially have an email from a customer that experienced a glitch downloading a purchase after payment.
So if I'm not taking care of any of that, then what have I been doing?
Well, lately I've been logging in to BHW everyday. Reading new threads, looking for something new. Answering questions when I think I can contribute something. Following a few members who's posts I've found usually contain valuable insights and information.
Why have I been doing that, instead of real work that will make me more money?
Because BHW is addictive. It's like a drug. LOL
There's so much information here, but I still can't get my fix.
BHW is like online crack!!! And I've become an addict!!!
It's never enough, there's always more to find.

If I'm having this problem, then I can imagine how bad it is for people that haven't even made a start yet.
Here is my advice to new people starting out. Read through the forums to pick something you want to try.
Focus on a few threads that deal with that method so you get a real good idea of what you want to do.
Allot a certain amount of time that you want to spend on BHW everyday, and then close your browser when your time is up. Get to work on your new project. If your having problems getting started, part of the problem might be that you just aren't starting. Start following the steps one by one that you've already determined are necessary. Make some progress everyday on your new project, and wait until your next alloted BHW time to go look more stuff up.

OK, well I'm going to have to start limiting my time on BHW to no more than an hour or two a day for awhile. Some of you might even be happy about that. LOL, I hope I haven't been too annoying to anyone over the last month. I've really enjoyed spending so much time on here and hope I've been able to actually give a few people some real help.
Now, I need to start getting some real work done again.
