Category question

Okay guys. Im gonna try to makes this as short as possible.

I work for a big company that sells mobile accesories. Every year when we close in on Apples annual release date we create New categories with the New iPhone names(based on rumors).

When the phones are presented I usually just rename the phones in the category name and in the content to the right names. But today my boss told me it was better to create a whole New category instead.

Example 1: I guessed the New iPhone 11 Pro to be named iPhone XI, the iPhone 11 Pro Max to be named iPhone XI Max and finally the iPhone 11 to be named iPhone 11R.

What would be better? Change the names to the real ones in the 2 month old and indexed content or create new categories and rewrite the entire content?

You could keep the old ones, but add an edit at the top or bottom that corrects it, like:

After reveal of xxxx date it is now known the the model is called xxxx
