Do you guys no-index your category pages? Is it viewed as duplicate content or is that just a myth? With google doing all this mega updates and shit, wouldn't the search engine be programmed to understand basic wordpress structure?

Thanks

Yes its duplicate content but google wont do a damn thing, all these PBN services that offer homepage links show the full article on the homepage and they are just fine.

A little dupe content wont hurt at all, think about all the link juice you will lose if you no-index your category pages.

HECK NO! :) Category pages rank very well at the moment for ecom stores. It is almost as if product category pages get a boost. Use rel=next/prev for the pagination. Make sure you include page number in the title and meta description for pages 2+ AND make sure you canonical all pages of a category to the first page URL. Categories are among my best ranking page types for me currently... I would never ever noindex them. That's crazy talk! :)
