So, I graduated at the start of 2020 in graphic design. I am still working a job I started in school. This job requires graphic designers, but I don’t feel like I’m doing that. I’m more or less just remaking images given to me. Which are usually basic graphs that don’t have much room to make into anything else due to our clients (which are teachers) needs/wants of them. I often wonder if this job counts as graphic design experience to employers. Unfortunately, I made a bad choice and haven’t been designing on the side this whole time. Now, I feel I may of screwed up my future in this industry. That feeling you get when you know something is bad in a design and needs to be changed is pretty much gone for me now. I’m not sure how It would be possible to get it back quickly without professional guidance. I was wondering if anyone has ever bounced back after having their skills atrophy in this field? Is any quick way you achieved this while making projects? Websites with quick project ideas? I’m just hoping I still have a chance still.
