Yes I have and was lucky enough to win few K and somehow to never go back to it again.
I'd suggest you stay away from gambling, in the long run it's going to ruin you even if you have short-term success.

I think that the concept of addiction is very subjective:
I played poker and black jack when i was younger, and after few losses I just withdraw and till today I still can play few cames without "falling again ".
But my point break is weed . I quit smocking 2 years ago and till today when friends are smoking, I really need to fight with myself to don't smoke with them
